Linguini Alfredo with Sausage and Bacon

    One of my fiance’s favorite foods is alfredo sauce, so I wanted to make something that we would both like.  I needed some meat, and the bacon compliments the sauce in a way you wouldn’t believe.  This one is definitely worth a shot!

    (Note: Don’t let the cook time scare you, I like cooking low and slow and prefer to reuse one pan.  You can easily speed this up by using several pans)

    1. Start off with your bacon. The colder the better, you might even want to throw them in the freezer for 30 minutes so it's easier to slice up
    2. Slice or dice up with a sharp knife or cleaver and put in a frying pan on medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until crispy
    3. When the bacon is crispy and cooked, drain out the oil and cook another minute to ensure you get rid of the excess chewiness
    4. Set aside on some paper towels for the fat to run off
    5. Now start cooking your sausage, you don't even have to clean the frying pan but you will want to lower the heat to low-medium. Cook these until done, slice up and set aside
    6. Clean out your pan, and return to low-medium heat. Add your olive oil and minced garlic. Let cook for two minutes, add butter, let cook another two minutes, add heavy cream, parmesan (save some to sprinkle on top) and all other ingredients. Make sure you keep stirring or the cheese will stick to the bottom and burn. Bring to a boil and then let simmer 10 minutes.
    7. In a large pot, boil water and prepare your linguini or pasta of choice
    8. Assemble your plate and enjoy!
