One of the world’s most challenging decisions…has just been solved! Across offices worldwide the question comes up daily… Pizza, or Chinese? Well I say, why not both? Pizza egg rolls are packed with just enough meat, cheese, and grease to satisfy all your cravings.
Traditional Asian cooking doesn’t have dairy in it, but you can’t call something pizza without cheese. That’s what makes this mashup so great. You get the outside crunch of the eggroll and the inside combination of flavors. And by cooking with vegetable oil instead of traditional peanut oil you don’t get an overwhelming Chinese taste.
Pizza Egg Rolls
Start out with an egg roll wrapper. These can usually be found in any supermarket over by the fresh vegetables/organics/Asian section
Slice up your pepperoni and sausage, and pile them up along with the cheese close to one corner like in the photo
Wrap up tightly (the egg roll wrapper package usually has detailed instructions) making sure the insides don't spill out. Place with the open flap facing down
Heat 1/2" of oil in a frying pan on medium heat. These will cook pretty quickly. Place flap-side down to seal for two to three minutes, flip them over when they brown. Cook another two to three minutes
Remove and let oil drip off
