S’mores Rice Krispie Treats
One night a few weeks ago, I was sitting around the fire, making s’mores, and it hit me. I started craving homemade rice krispie treats. But what if we merged them?? Boom. Here you go. Took me long enough to finally make.
Start making your normal rice krispies treat recipe, which can be found on the box or right below.
Start with a large pot, and melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat.
Add one package (10 oz) of marshmallows.
Stir until completely melted.
Remove from heat.
Add 6 cups of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
Usually you would lay these out in a pan to sit, but we will keep this off to the side for now. In a small pan, on VERY LOW heat, melt up 4 bars of Hershey’s chocolate. This will only take a couple minutes, but don’t try to rush this. Chocolate burns easily and will stink!
Grab yourself a small bowl and 4 full sheets of chocolate graham crackers. Break them up into a powder. You can use you hands, a food processor, or whatever else you choose.
Grab yourself a muffin tray. Lightly butter the tray so they don’t stick too much.
Pour in about a tablespoon of crushed graham crackers.
Drizzle in some chocolate.
Here’s the fun part. Fill up your muffin cups with the Rice Krispies, which should still be a big blob. They will want to stick to your spoon, just take your time and gently press down when full.
Sprinkle on a touch of cinnamon.
Drizzle again with remaining chocolate.
Top with more graham cracker dust.
Put in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set up.
Serve and enjoy!
3 tablespoons butter
10 oz package of marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
Pinch of Cinnamon
4 Hershey chocolate bars
4 chocolate graham crackers
