Tossed Italian Bread French Toast

Tossed Italian Bread French Toast

It all started one morning when I was craving some French Toast, only to discover I was out of bread!  What was I to do?  I didn’t want to run to the store, that would involve getting dressed.  There was a loaf of Italian Bread sitting there…so I felt it and discovered that it wasn’t too hard yet.

First, I cut up slices about an inch thick.  Next, I dipped each piece in whisked eggs with a little milk, and laid each slice out on the hot griddle.  I sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon on top, flipped it over after a few minutes and sprinkled a little more cinnamon on the other side.

I like to cook these at a low temperature around 250-275° for a longer period so that the egg fully cooks.  Next you want to chop these up into bite sized pieces, and add a few pieces of butter throughout.  Let it mix right on the griddle or frying pan.  Next add some syrup and a little chocolate syrup.

Toss this all together until it heats up and becomes real sticky, take them off and enjoy.  Ilike to eat it in a bowl, it seems to stick together nicely.  Goes great with some eggs and bacon.

This is by far one of my favorite breakfasts.  If I wasn’t always in a rush I would probably make this a few times a week.  Without a doubt I’d give this a 10 out of 10.
